Dental Financial Coordinator
$20-28 /hour based on experience | Full-Time

What You'll Do:
As our Dental Financial & Treatment Coordinator, you'll play an important role in helping patients understand their treatment, navigate their insurance, and feel confident moving forward with the care they need.
- Present treatment plans clearly and confidently while helping patients understand their recommended care, options, and next steps.
- Discuss treatment costs and financial options in a way that is clear and comfortable.
- Verify dental insurance benefits and accurately interpret PPO plans, Medicaid, benefit breakdowns, and coordination of benefits.
- Prepare accurate treatment estimates and communicate expected insurance and patient portions.
- Manage Accounts Receivable (AR), including outstanding patient balances, insurance balances, aging accounts, and claim follow-up.
- Monitor AR regularly and take appropriate action to resolve unpaid or aging accounts.
- Review patient accounts and ledgers, identify discrepancies, and maintain accurate financial information.
- Collect co-pays, deductibles, balances, and treatment payments.
- Discuss and coordinate financial arrangements and payment options with patients.
- Coordinate treatment appointments and help keep the schedule productive and organized.
- Handle check-in and check-out and provide a warm, welcoming experience for every patient.
- Answer phones, respond to patient questions, and communicate professionally with patients throughout their treatment.
- Work closely with the doctor and clinical team to ensure patients have a smooth transition from diagnosis to treatment.
- Stay organized and manage multiple priorities in a busy front-office environment.
Must-Haves:
- 1+ year of dental front-office experience, preferably with treatment coordination and insurance responsibilities.
- Strong working knowledge of dental insurance, including PPOs, Medicaid, benefit breakdowns, and coordination of benefits.
- Experience presenting treatment plans and discussing financial arrangements with patients.
- Hands-on experience managing dental AR and outstanding patient/insurance balances.
- Experience with insurance verification, claim submission, claim follow-up, and resolving outstanding claims.
- Comfortable reviewing patient ledgers, treatment estimates, insurance payments, aging reports, and account balances.
- Proficiency with Open Dental, or the ability to learn new software quickly.
- Excellent attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
- Rock-solid attendance, reliability, and work ethic.
- Confident communication skills with the ability to discuss money and treatment without making patients feel pressured.
- A natural ability to build trust with patients and teammates alike.
- Ability to stay calm, positive, and professional in a busy environment.
